Kuadran pertama, yaitu mendesak dan penting (urgent and important), berisi tugas dan tanggung jawab yang perlu perhatian segera.

Kuadran kedua, yaitu tidak mendesak dan penting (not urgent and important), berisi hal yang penting tanpa memerlukan tindakan segera. Kuadran ini digunakan untuk menyusun strategi jangka panjang.

Kuadran ketiga, yaitu mendesak dan tidak penting (urgent and not important), berisi hal-hal yang mencegah kamu mencapai tujuan. Tanyakan pada diri sendiri apakah kamu perlu menjadwal ulang atau mendelegasikan pekerjaan tersebut kepada orang lain.

Lalu kuadran keempat, yaitu tidak mendesak dan tidak penting (not urgent and not important), berisi hal-hal yang mengganggu perhatianmu dari pekerjaan. Hindari jika memungkinkan.

  1. Buat Batas Waktu

Batas waktu akan memastikan pekerjaan rampung sebelum kamu terlambat menyelesaikannya. Dengan adanya batas waktu, kamu menjadi semakin terpacu untuk menyelesaikan suatu pekerjaan. Batas waktu juga memunculkan rasa tanggung jawab untuk berhasil mengerjakannya tepat waktu.
Atur batas waktu dengan memberi jeda waktu yang cukup untuk mengevaluasi kembali pekerjaan kamu. Hal ini memungkinkan kamu untuk tidak tergesa-gesa menyelesaikannya saat mendekati tenggat yang ditentukan. Dengan begitu kamu dapat menghemat energimu.
  1. Stop Multitasking

Alih-alih mampu menyelesaikan beberapa pekerjaan dalam satu rentang waktu, multitasking akan membuatmu tidak fokus. Sehingga pekerjaan malah tidak dapat diselesaikan dengan optimal. Bisa saja kamu mengerjakan pekerjaan secara multitasking, namun potensi kesalahan pada hasilnya akan lebih tinggi.
